Montego Bay
Port Rating:
We took a small shuttle taxi to Doctor's Cave Beach and had a nice day. When we got into the terminal it was extremely crowded and there was a LONG line waiting to buy tickets for $20 for a hop-on and hop-off shuttle. I had read that you could get a JUTA cab outside the terminal, but it is important to make sure you were getting in the government licensed cabs by checking the license plates. We asked a policeman where to catch one and she pointed to one across the street, so we paid $5 per person and went to the beach. We thought it was going to cost $5 per person entrance fee, $5 p.p. for a chair, and $5 for an umbrella (two can share one.) When we got there the price for each item was raised to $6--maybe because there were so many ships in port that day! Anyway, the beach was crowded, but nice. At least we had something to do in Jamaica where we felt safe. We have been there before and it is a port that I would not recommend doing much running around on your own! We found a JUTA cab right outside the entrance and just returned to the ship, although there was shopping right in that area, if desired...

Grand Cayman
Port Rating:
You have to take a tender boat to the island and we did not have any excursions booked so we just waited for the initial rush to avoid the long lines. We had previously toured the island on another cruise, so we decided to browse through the shops. Grand Cayman is a nice, clean port where you feel very safe. Since we didn't wait until the last minute to return to the ship, we had no wait time to board the tender.

Cozumel
Port Rating:
We love Cozumel. We took a taxi ($10 each way for 2) to Chankanaab Park where we snorkel and enjoy a day at the beach. (About a 10 minute drive.) The Chankanaab admission fee is currently $21 per person. It has a beautiful beach with chairs and umbrellas, and roaming waiters to take your food or drink order. It also has a nice garden area to walk through, a sea lion show, and a dolphin show (we didn't see it), or you can pay extra and swim with the dolphins. We like to snorkel and have our own equipment, so we go to see the beautiful fish! Snorkel equipment is available to rent also. I think it is $15, but I am not 100% certain. I know they will provide you with a life vest for free as long as you leave them your driver's license which they return to you when you bring back their life vest. So if you have your own mask and snorkel, you can use their vest and snorkel for free! There are clean showers, bathrooms, and changing areas. When you are ready to leave, there are taxis available at the entrance.
