More of a drive past at most places. Drivers a bit rude. Vehicles from the dark ages. Even the cruise tour did the same sights/buildings as we did at a higher cost plus the cruise tour went to a jewellers shop. Why I don't know it didn't mention that on the itinerary our family had been given.
Had a walk into the town which is a fair distance from the port area. Neatly presented Taxis will pick you up inside the Dock area but be warned they ask you to get out at the gate entrance and make you get into an old people carrier. Not that much to see unless you do the trip to the tombs.
A great place for a holiday of no more that a week. As you can see most of the main attractions during that time. The people are very friendly. Food a little expensive in the hotels as well as in some cafes. Taxis are cheap to get around and there are shuttle buses to the main shopping malls. A must see place for a look inside the big fancy hotels like the Arab and Kalifa with its water fountains dancing to music in the evenings, plus the shopping mall and ski slope is great. The Palm is a must and so is Atlantis. Well worth a visit.
Wow I could write a book. What a fabulous place to visit. The walk to the Siq entrance took about 10 minutes and the walk through the Siq although long, took 45 minutes, was amazing but with very uneven surfaces to walk across could be an issue for some people. It was a wonderful sight to see, the cut outs in the rock surfaces showed how the people they lived and how water was transported from the village was amazing. The Treasury appears through the pink landscape at the exit to the Siq. A real piece of art work. A must see for anyone. Plus doing the journey through the Suez Canal to reach the port of Aqaba will complete a trip of a lifetime. Fabulous.
