Port Rating:
Our ship was almost 2 hours late disembarking which could have put a wrench in our plans. We bought a 2 day bus/ferry pass for 20.00. Our plan was to get to the Chrystal Caves before the last tour at 4:30. WE just made it, others did not.
We went to the Swizzle Inn for a pitcher of there famous punch. We headed to City Hall for the "night in the Arts" with a wonderful free art exhibit and cocktails/appetizer reception.
We spent the evening at the Frog and Onion pub. We took a seat at the bar and ended up having a wonderful conversation with two local taxi drivers.
Our second day in Bermuda started off cloudy. We took the bus to Somerset were we started walking up the "Railway Trail" we stopped off at Fort Scaur for wonderful views of the harbour. We continued walking down the trail and saw a wonderful "Moongate" . As a young man was getting in his car I asked him if he could take our picture. We told him we were now on our way to "Gibb's lighthouse" by bus. He told us that he had a song on MTV called "Bermuda Is" (U tube it). As he began to drive away he lowered his window and said " I will take you there". He took us right to the parking lot the lighthouse. For 2.00 we bought a ticket and walked up the many stairs to a spectacular view of the Harbour. We walked the 20 minutes to Horseshoe Beach, all the way to Warwick Long Beach.
We went back to the Dockyard to wander around under clear skies and had drinks and a snack at "Bone Fish".
