Purpose built terminal. We booked a tour of the Island through a local company and it is a beautiful place to visit.

Walked the 20 minutes into town and had a look around. Nice place and people. Felt completely safe walking around. Next time we'll take more of a look around the rest of the island.

Hired a car and explored some of the island. Easy enough to drive around and stunning scenery in the centre of the island.

Hired a car and went to see the volcanoes. Whilst that was good the rest of the island seemed very quite. Not enough going on for us.

Funchal is a really nice place to walk around, stop for a coffee and shop. Picturesque to. Although we didn't take one Taxi tours seem good value. Next time we will take one to see the island.
