We've been to St. Thomas many, many times and at this point have taken every tour. We had been to Megan's Bay on previous trips and were looking for something a little more quite this time around. We ended up going to Emerald Beach, fantastic. The beach is close the airport, next to a small resort hotel, about 10-15 minutes by taxi. Very quiet beach, calm water. There is good beach restaurant, bathrooms and chairs for rent, we paid $7 each. Beautiful beach, palm trees, the perfect Caribbean beach.
Barbados is one of my favorite places to visit, been there many times and have done all of the excursions and loved them. We decided to book a private tour in order to get out an see the island. We booked online with Edwin Lovell and we would highly recommend him. Very reasonably priced, very accommodating, very friendly and knowledgeable. He takes small groups which made for a pleasurable trip. We did the island tour and beach, he gave us plenty of time at each stop and brought us to a very lovely beach.
St. Lucia by far is our favorite stop and the reason we booked this particular cruise. We had booked an excursion online but unfortunately did not make it due to an injury. After getting patched up we took a trip to the Pitons with one of the taxi drivers in the terminal building. We paid $30 for a 3 hour driving tour, very nice. The economy has declined and there are many drivers at the terminal, ask around to get the best price. We spend the remainder of the day at the craft center by the ship. It is a short walk from the ship, close quarters but very reasonable prices on wood pieces and spices.
This was our second time visiting St. Kitts and we really enjoyed it. We did not book anything in advance of our visit but ended up taking an island tour with a driver we found on the port named Basil. The island tour was wonderful, brand new van, small group and very informative driver. The tour was a little longer than the 3 hours we had booked, but the driver let everyone take their time at each stop and with picture taking, very nice.
We took the water taxi from the ship to town, paid $12 for the day pass which is a better value than paying each way. We walked around town for a bit then rented chairs on the beach from one of the vendors on the boardwalk. There are now many vendors along the beach that will rent chairs and have bathroom and changing facilities, ask around for the best price and location.
