This was our second visit to St Thomas. We did not plan any excursions. We got off the ship and walked around shopping then we hopped back on the ship to enjoy it with less people on-board.
We did not really plan anything for this island either so when we got off the ship we let a taxi guy talk us into a tour he drove us around the island and gave us a very informative tour afterwards we found a place to have a roti. It is like a burrito. We tried the meat and potato roti which was good then headed over to a bar by the waterfront to have a couple of beers and people watch!
What can I say this is one of my new favorite islands. I booked online with Cosol for a tour based on the recommendations I read on this site. I was not disappointed. We ended up getting a private tour as one van had already taken off and some other people who booked did not show up. Our driver was Miguel he was very informative and friendly. We toured the island then went to the banana plantation after that we caught up with the van for lunch. What an experience the food was good and we really enjoyed getting to sample so many different local foods. The beer, cokes and rum punch was cold, delicious and unlimited. We went to the drive through volcano and to the water taxi so we could go to the beach between the pitons. The water route gives you the best view of the pitons and swimming there was nice. Hands down Cosol Tours give the best tour experience for the money and I would recommend them to anyone!
We had booked a tour online with Thenford Grey tours. Our guide was The Weatherman who is quite a character. He gave us a great tour of St Kitts. We went to Romney Manor and then to Brimstone Hill. The views from there are fabulous and we were very fortunate that they were in the middle of a reenactment so we had a free show and history lesson while there. Afterwards they took us to the Friars Beach. We hung out and had beers and swam. There were monkeys and mongoose in the trees at the beach. It was a great tour that we really enjoyed.
Well St Maarten has always been my favorite place! We rented a car and toured the island with stops at Orient Beach, the beach near the port and shopping. We really love this island there is so much to do here.
