I'm sure that once the work is complete on the island it will be better. There wasn't much to do on the island. We did the snorkeling and sat around for a while then we went back to the ship. We are very fair skinned people and more shade would have been nice also.
We didn't plan anything for Nassau and just walked around. We had a good time walking around Nassau, going to the Straw Market, then taking a water taxi to Paradise Island. The water taxi was only $4.00 a person each way. Don't ever pay full price for anything at the Straw Market. We got most people down to at least half of what they were asking. Go to the inside to make the best deals. The vendors on the outer edges get lots of business and are less willing to go low on prices.
