There is not much to see or do at this port without transportation. Seems industrial and a place for the ship to restock, fuel up, etc. Recommend catching a taxi or shuttle to nearby cocoa beach. Our shuttle bus driver provided his cell phone number to call him when we were ready to come back, which worked perfectly for us.
This excursion starts out with a tour of the facility that last approximately 35-45 mins, depending on the questions asked by those in the group. Although nice to see, we were there for the water park so the tour just doesn't go fast enough. This cruise was our second time doing Carnival's all-day excursion to Atlantis, so we knew not to go on the tour. We simply advised the tour guide "been here, done that" and she let us loose, pointing us in the direction to the water park, which saved much precious time to enjoy the park! Atlantis is beautiful, and I don't think there's any other lazy river better. Even the food was tasty. A great excursion but I think the cost is a little pricey.
Our ship docked in Freeport early in the morning, so half the time at this port I was still in bed. We got off the ship for a little while to shop but most sell many of the same things. Depending on how much time you have, it may be beneficial to catch a taxi to Lucaya or other places that have more of a variety.
