Port Rating:

Port Canaveral may well have been my favorite- had plenty of time at the beach and shopping along the way. None of our party went on excursions but were happy with the day we had without.

Port Rating:

One couple we were with went on the Catamaran and Snorkel tour- nice, but greatly disappointing as they only had a small area to snorkel and two or three other boats were there too, so far too many people swimming around a small area, so they didn't see much underwater and kept getting slapped by kids' flippers.

Other couple took the Dolphin Encounter excursion and that sounded like a great bet. They had no complaints and great photos.

We opted to wander about about go to Junkanoo Beach for a while. We were a bit tired and grumpy by the time we found the beach, but the water made up for it and people were all in good moods and the weather was perfect.

Super high pressure from vendors as we walked along the shops by the port, but got some good buys and enjoyed the sites and sounds. Would never drive there!

Port Rating:

Took a cab ride to Lucaya for beach time and shopping again. In hindsight, really wish we would have joined the roll call members at Junkanoo Beach- our beach was a little strip of stone, basically, and you had to walk over a wide band of rocks before getting to good sand in the water. It did feel great though and it was beautiful in the water.

Shopping area was rather depressing and we left feeling badly about the obvious lack of tourist dollars flowing around that area.

Was pretty happy getting back onboard that day.

If I were to go again, I would follow our friend's example and do the jeep tour. They had a great time and saw much more of Freeport than we did and it does sound like a lovely island overall.
