Mar 4 for 2 weeks Latin gems & Caribbean treasures -- thomsons dream
Booked a suite at a real bargain price £84 -- 2 people 2 weeks -- 2 days later it was £600+ pp (happened to be there at right time) 7056
Priority check in - Separate bedroom -- 2 towel dressing gowns -- Jacuzzi -- walk in wardrobe -- free water every day -- late check out till 11am then a courtesy cabin just for us till 3pm - bowl of fruit on arrival -- every other day at 6pm we would get -- canapes -- pate -- dips
Friend in cabin 6049 -- only 2 tiny drawers -- 3 shelves also our courtesy room 7028 was the same -- we like at least 4 -- 6 drawers for bits & pieces
Would go on dream again but try & book a cabin with plenty drawer space -- unless got a suite at a knock down price -- had a look around when in Barbados -- changeover day -- a lot of cabins had a lot more drawer space on all levels than 6049 & 7028
Lounges vg
Staff all friendly mostly phillipino some indonisian
Ate evenings in orion restaurant -- you can request a table at a certain time if you want to -- we had table 11
- 7 15pm -- at edge of restaurant -- not too noisy -- waiter april -- busboy yogi -- great -- best to go in then as at 8pm there were queues & it could take 2 ½ hours for meal to be served
Captains night go to early sitting as 2cd sitting is chaotic in the restaurant -- don't need to go when told to just turn up at 5pm
Entertainment -- 2 shows per night theatre vg -- no problem seeing stage -- 2 levels -- show team vg -- I didn't go every night but what I saw was vg -- comedians vg too
Trips- we only went on 2 -- st kitts -- scenic railway & dominica -- aerial tram-both vg
Would suggest in Granada go on trip as st georges is totally spoilt due to recent - ish hurricane -- a lot of ports of call nothing much to see in port -- all islands plenty of trips available on quayside but I wonder if all fully insured whereas thomsons trips are -- you might pay more but for peace of mind & getting back to ship on time it's worth it
Best places to walk off -- aruba -- curacao -- st maarten
We booked drinks package as we like wine -- beer & cocktails & found it worthwhile but not everyone's cup of tea --I have drinks list if anyone interested -- wine £3 90 -- heineken £3.50 -- cocktails from £3 75 -- soft drinks £1 70 -- bottle water £1 75 - add it all up it's surprising how much it will cost you
Spirits on sale in shop £10 rough price per bottle cigs & tobacco too -- tobacco £40 -- 15% some nights -- can use on board
Any questions just ask & I will try & help
If you see april & yogi -- table 11 orion restaurant tell them best regards from mrs flora mr barrie & mrs joan
