My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and have enjoyed 11 other Princess cruises over the years. We chose an itinerary with many days of relaxation at sea and this fit the bill. Our mini-suite was roomy, the bed was divine and the extra space (we usually book only a balcony) was great!
Our weather was unkind for the entire trip, which I understand is not the norm. We have been to Hawaii several times before and had no special plans to tour, so although we were hoping for sunny weather and beautiful sunsets, we were not as disappointed with the weather as others.
The food and entertainment was probably the best we've experienced on any cruise line. There was no need for ANY improvement. We also enjoyed the Crowne Grill and Sabintini's, which are two spots where we'd never ventured...they, too, did not disappoint! The service, presentation and food quality was superb here as well as the dining room. Service was premium in all other bars and lounges, as well.
Always so much to do and never a dull moment. The casino staff was very friendly, too...on other ships they seem to be less willing to visit and laugh...this was very different and all was good and we managed to spend more time at the tables than we usually do. We enjoyed Ronnie at Vines SO much...this was a wine tasting event that we had never seen before...specialty wine at the Stammtisch table made for 8 guests only...the wine is served with tapas and/or sushi/cheese...we did this 3 different times with 3 different types of wines...GREAT! We are not as formal as some folks...3 nights formal was a bit much for us, but we enjoyed regardless. Not sure if ships travelling to Hawaii always rock and roll as the Golden did, but she did rock and roll. Didn't bother us, but some were a little queasy. We love being rocked to sleep and she didn't disappoint there either. Best cruise ever, for us!
