Azura Cruise Review by Cool chic: Azura review
We flew Thompson airways from Bournemouth to Barbados.. Check in to Azura very efficient, probably because we had already completed the on line check in procedure. Suitcase delivery took approx. two hrs. Expecting this I packed all required into and luggage. Our dining arrangements were in the Meridian and chose freedom dining. we liked the Meridian as we did not ave to wait long
For a table for two, a pager was handed out by the reception staff, and within about 15 mins on average we had a table. Dining in the Meridian was good, the standard of food as good as other P & O cruises, but we were very taken aback by the hand gel Never being available as you go in there.
fortunately there is a wc just outside the meridian so you can wash your hands in there.
we were not very impressed with self service dining areas on the boat. We found a retain lack of choice available and no fruit juice only water in machines! There is no policing of people at all for suitable attire More and noticed a man without shirt walking amongst the diners and men in vest style t shirts... very off putting and down right slovenly. No one checks that gel is being used either in these areas. As in most of these cruises on larger boats, it does tend to get very busy at certain times and quite often you have to wait quite some time for the lifts. Fellow cruisers I found on the whole quite polite but on a number of occasions could not believe the rudeness of some with little or no politeness whatsoever, ie. in the lifts and corridors. I did find this very off putting and have never experienced this on previous cruises from Southampton on Royal C. & Celebrity X.
We booked a lot of shore excursions and, on the whole, found most of these very interesting and worth while. Beware of the size of the buses in the Caribbean.. They are all mostly small, and anyone with any disability should be aware that they were not willing to take on any wheelchair
In general we enjoyed our Caribbean cruise with P & o but have found the Azura a very complicated
Ship to find yourself around on to say the least, and the atrium has little wow factor for me compared to othe ships, as also the bland decor throughout. cabin was clean, & comfortable. cushions
Removed from bed at night, which if you wanted to sit up in night like I often do, it would have been nice just to have a cushion available for my use. T.V & music not like other cruise lines, there is little
Choice of programmes.
I did not uses the hairdresser or Spa on this cruise. Library very small incorporating wifi
