This was my first Carnival cruise and while I enjoyed the experience it was probably my least favorite of the six other cruises I've taken in the past nine years.

The staff was friendly and the ship was clean. Beyond that, Carnival didn't live up to the expectations of "fun" that I had heard so much about. The layout of the Liberty was far more confusing than the previous ships I've cruised on. The promenade deck did not encompass the ship, which for those that like to walk was a problem. They offer a smaller walking track on the sports deck, but it doesn't have the same feel as walking on the promenade deck.

The entertainment was so-so. The main shows were good however there were only two that involved the entire cast. One night there was no entertainment, or shall I say, paid entertainment...only a "game show". The comedians that I saw were very raunchy and sexual. As he said, "if you don't like his show, complain and then go to an earlier show". Really? The band near the casino was okay, the area was not big enough to dance in and people were always trying to get by. Strange location to have dance lessons, etc., but they were making the most of the space on the ship.

Cabin Review

Balcony

Cabin 8C

We had a balcony cabin, 8360, it was very nice. There are very few electrical outlets which is only a problem if you need to charge multiple phone, cameras and have curling irons, etc. to plug in. There is plenty of storage. The balcony was decent size. The only downside to the balcony was that we were on deck 8 and the lido deck was above us. The lido deck covered out balcony so sitting in the sun was not possible.
