Great transport, terrible cruise

Sail Date: March 2012
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Other

We started groupon a year ago by booking a 2 night Bahamas Celebration Cruise and 2 nights at Our Lucaya in Freeport, Bahamas. We got a great bargain and just wanted a weekend away to relax and unwind.

The check-in at Palm Beach was smooth, but we were alarmed when they kept our passports and said they would return them in the Bahamas. They were returned, but after getting up early to retrieve them and stand in line before catching the shuttle to Our Lucaya.

The ship is old and there are signs of wear and tear throughout. The crew does a good job of keeping it clean and our cabin steward was one of the best we've had on any cruise.

The food throughout the cruise was average. The buffets were not as good as say a Golden Corral and were very limited in selection. The sit-down dinners were good, on par with most cruise lines, but super small portions.

There is nothing to do on this ship. You really have to stretch for any entertainment. We are More usually content to just sit by the pool and watch the activities, but the only entertainment there is some bad cd of Bob Marly songs done by someone else, played over broke down speakers.

The beds are brutal, like sleeping on a cot. All but one aerobic machine in the gym was broken.

We spoke to many couples on this cruise who were using this as a way to see if they would like cruising and we did our best to convince them not to judge cruising by this experience.

There is no value to this cruise and I would not do it or recommend it to anyone. Less
