Ship Facts: Carnival Dream Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Carnival Dream Deck Plans
Carnival Dream was a disapointment
This was our second cruise so we are new to cruising. Last year we sailed on Royal Caribbean's Freedom of the Seas and absolutely loved it. We chose Carnival this time for its family atmosphere as we travel with a 12 year old. Carnival Dream did not meet our expectations, especially in comparison to our experience on RC.

The positive:

We received a room upgrade. I booked an interior cabin through the fun saver special and we were thrilled to see that we had been upgraded to an exterior cabin. The cabin was spacious and had 2 showers. Really enjoyed the cabin.

My son loved the Circle C tween club (12-14 yrs). He spent a great deal of time there and met many friends.

Delicious melting chocolate cake on the dining room menu.

Excellent adult and family comedy shows.

Tear off pocket version on the daily Fun Times - easy to carry in your pocket.

Generally good service throughout (housekeeping), although we could never find a waiter in the buffet area to order a soft drink.

The negatives:

The ship rocked the entire time. All three of us including another family member we travelled with had to take Gravol on the 2nd day at sea. The sea was rough for a few days due to the weather, but we found it difficult to believe that the weather outside was solely to blame. There is something off about this ship...

The layout of this ship is simply difficult to maneuver. It's like a maze that you must navigate from one end to another to get from A to B. The elevators stuck in the middle seem oddly placed and cut the ship in half. It just seems closed in. The promenade level was a huge disappointment. There's no Wow factor on this ship!

Very disappointing dinner buffet. Very small, no selection...

Two people in our party got sick from something we ate at the Tandori Grill. We suspect it was the fish (I regret not telling the courtesy counter about this).

Got tired of the dinning room menu by Wednesday. The food was never hot...always luke warm.

Disgusting smell in the Gathering restaurant/buffet every day. Smells like a kitchen rag.

Soft drink card doesn't even include a complimentary refillable mug for $50.

Could not find a chair anywhere on Seas days. Very congested pool areas/deck.

RC offers touch screens by the elevators that show the menu, daily activities etc. Nothing like this on this ship

Ok entertainment. The first night show sets a very boring tone...

We will not be booking with Carnival again.
