Ship Facts: Celebrity Eclipse Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Celebrity Eclipse Deck Plans
Excellent cruise experience
First of all thanks for all of the previous reviews and postings on the Boards, they were very helpful. There are obviously many different cruisers with many different backgrounds and experiences. So let me level set where I come from. I travel a lot for business, generally stay at Marriotts, Westins, Hyatts, etc. Live in DC, enjoy the arts and good food. Was looking for a week to relax, didn't really care where we went.

Embarkation: A snap

Stateroom: Aqua class, would do it again in a heartbeat. Most previous posters did a nice job of reviewing the staterooms, showers, etc. We were mid-ship, deck 11 we did experience the moving of chairs every morning at 7am for about 10 minutes, annoying but could have been much worse. Really enjoyed use of the relaxation room and Persian Gardens. Our service could not have been better by our stateroom attendants. Again, its a big ship and a lot of staff. Our two attendants couldn't have been nicer, anticipated our every need. I couldn't imagine that we would have had better service from a Butler in the suites.

Food: We had dinner in Blu every night. It is like a specialty restaurant as far as size, service, and ambiance. We had the same table server, assistant server every night. By the second night they knew what we wanted. The sommelier was helpful and kept our bottle from night to night. IMHO, the food was good, far from excellent, but solid, fresh and enough choices, however the service and ambiance made up for any deficiencies in the "wow" factor of the food, which kept us coming back every night. We also had breakfast several days in Blu which was excellent. For lunch grabbed a salad at the "chow line", it was satisfactory.

Entertainment: I'm a snob in this area, enjoy Kennedy Center, Broadway, etc. The shows were fair at best. A nice diversion, but the passengers as a whole seemed to enjoy it.

Activities: Plenty to do. Really enjoyed the glass blowing. Had a good spa experience. Enjoyed the Solarium which is the indoor adult pool. We did the "behind the scenes tour", pricey at $150pp, but fascinating, and glad we did it, it was disorganized and we didn't feel we got a good value however. Overall as little or as much as you wanted to do.

Overall: We would definitely go on Celebrity again, especially in Aqua class. Perhaps we lucked out, but had terrific service. The ship was spotless. They were very careful with sanitizing everything and everyone. There were very few disappointments.
