Costa Rica (Limon) - we went whitewater rafting (ship excursion), which was good, except it was a long bus ride to the river and a lot of waiting before the raft ride - fun, but a long day for 20-30 minutes of action
Panama - booked Embera village tour with Anne Gordon - this stop was one of the highlights of the trip - really an amazing experience with wornderful people
Cartagena - had private city tour with Dora (guide was a very nice man) - I couldn't get enough of this beautiful city - would love to go back for a week
Grand Cayman - reserved a boat with a local operator and went to stingray city and Rum Point.Equinox comments - the only negative items I experienced were: 1) main dining room was overwhelmed by Celebrity select diners - I had to negotiate with (and tip well) the restaurant hosts in order to reserve a table at the times we wanted - this restaurant is severly under-sized for the number of select diners booked on the cruise; 2) loud "Celebrity life" activities at the pool in the afternoons of sea days (not everyone wants to listen to an amplified paper airplane competition, and they completely closed down the main pool for a volleyball contest for two hours, 12-2, on one of the sea days); 3) one of our excursions was cancelled the night before due to lack of bookings - for some reason I had go go down to the tour desk and book a nearly-identical excursion, when the desk could have just re-booked me, explained the difference, and given me the option to opt-out; and 4) having to stand in a long line to get tender tickets for Grand Cayman didn't make sense.
