Thoroughly enjoyed this cruise! My only complaint was having to stand in line for concerts (not the ships's problem but probably due to the venue, etc.) We received excellent treatment by all ship staff we encountered; they were friendly and seemed willing to go out of their way to assist us.
We have great respect for the ship's captain as he kept excellent communication with us--our ship was diverted to an extra island due to severe illness of one of the passengers, and he made the decision to do this diversion for that passenger's needs (so that person could be transported to the States); since that put the ship behind and would have drastically shortened the next port day for the rest of us, he chose a different port of call which seemed to work out fine.
I was surprised to find out that the safety drills are now done without actually wearing life jackets; but this was handled very seriously, and none of us could leave until every passenger attended.
The ship was very clean even though some of its furnishings are starting to show their age.
We loved our cabin--it is one of 2 verandah rooms with a double balcony on this ship. For the most part, we heard little noise from hallways or other rooms. The bed was very comfortable. Room service was very good.
At first, we were disappointed our hotel (not booked thru HAL) did not get us to the FLL port until ~2 P. M.----but this was great as embarkation only took ~15 minutes since there were no lines by that time!
