Carnival Pride

Sail Date: February 2012
Destination: Bahamas
Embarkation: Baltimore

This was our first Carnival cruise and our tenth cruise in total. We chose this cruise due to the departure port in relation to where we live as this was a family cruise for a group of 18.

Embarkation went smoothly and boarding began about 12:30 and the line moved right along once the doors were opened.

The food in the main dining room was less than we had expected and the service was the worst we had ever had.Luke warm meals served by staff with no personality or personal service. The meals came out sporadically to us as some had no food while others were done and so slowly we were last to leave the dining room After the second night we complained to Matradee. He got them to pick up the speed but the service was still poor. We had a head waiter and two assistant waiters! In all fairness our second part time assistant tried hard and did have a good personality but couldn't carry his co workers all the time.

On the final night of dinner we had ordered a cake More for a birthday in our group ($36.00) when they got ready to bring it to the table we saw it was the wrong cake. Again we went to the Matradee who told us that was what we ordered and he didn't know what to say. We then produced the slip which showed we had ordered the cake we wanted a full three days before. He apologized but could not fix someones screw up and fully ruined our birthday surprise.

The buffet food was good but not a lot of selection. The tables seemed to always be cleared of dishes but never wiped down. Many times we had to ask for the tables to be cleaned before we could use them.

Our Balcony room was very good. As far as storage the closet layout was one of the best we have seen! When we arrived the bed had a very noticeable dip in it and you could feel the springs poking out. We called our cabin steward and he replaced both mattresses while we were at dinner that night with brand new ones. He and his staff did a great job for us and was always friendly when we saw him.

The ports of call were all good with very easy on and off the ship. The ship it self was in good shape and the decor was the talk of the ship. If your offended by nude art it may not be the ship for you!

Debarkation went very well and we were off the ship in less than fifteen minutes with our luggage and out of the port. Less

Kennedy Space Center

Space center was great. Signed up for the up close and personal tour but got down grades due to lack of interest. However once there we saw lots of others that did get that tour. Don't plan on seeing it all in the allotted time! There is to much to see even at a brisk pace!
