Ship Facts: Ruby Princess Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Ruby Princess Deck Plans
Amazing cruise on the Ruby
It was mine and my sisters 3rd cruise although first with princess and my parents first ever cruise.

We first flew into miami from london heathrow and stayed at the Intercontinental West Miami as part of the package from princess. This hotel was amazing, clean, beautiful, spacious and nice staff.

DAY 1: We awoke on sunday morning and had a leisurely morning by the pool at the hotel while we waited to get picked up via the princess transfers. As there were a few of us using the transfers we got told to be ready at 12pm and the coach will leave at 1230 however as we were all ready and the coach was early we left at 12pm - BONUS :)

We arrived at the pier about 1240 and quickly joined the queue to enter the terminal. The line was large but moved very quickly which was nice. Once we were checked in a very quick walk to the gangway and we were in the beautiful piazza.

After staring at the beauty we decided to drop our carry on to our room and to also check the room out. We only had a JJ inside cabin on deck 11 but it was a perfect room, ideal location, ideal size and immaculate. When we got to the room our attendant introduced themselves and we sorted ourselves out.

After checking out mum and dads room to make sure there were no problems we met up for some lunch and a drink and enjoy the atmosphere and weather :)

315pm was our time for the muster drill in the explorers lounge. We ensured we left in good time to go to our room to get the lifejackets and head to the lounge. As normally is the case people were still arriving at 330 and beyond and the drill finally started.

Once it was completed we dropped the jackets off and went up to deck 16 by the neptune pool for the sailaway. The band playing were excellent and really made the atmosphere. We left bang on 4pm and was sailing past the port everglades webcam (where watching the archive when we came home we could see ourselves lol).

We went downstairs to our room about 530 to unpack as our cases arrived at 330 which was amazing :). After a nice shower and change we met up with mum and dad for a pre dinner drink and a browse around the ship. We were in the Botticelli restaurant in 2nd fixed time dining and were introduced to our waitstaff who were very friendly and efficient.

After dinner we were off to the casino to win our millions (or donate our millions as was the case) and mum and dad went off to see a show.

Day 2: We awoke nice and early to have a leisurely breakfast and enjoy the view as we pulled into Princess Cays. The weather was cloudy at first but you could see that it was breaking :). After breakfast we went down to the michelangelo dining room to get our tender ticket and was surprised that we were ticket 3 but had no wait at all. Short ride later arrived and off to our lazy day at the clamshell. Lunch was provided and was very nice to have a barbecue on the beach.

All to soon it was time to go back to the ship :(

Another beautiful meal and off to the casino again.

Day 3: Sea day - Lazy start and a nice quiet lazy day by the neptune pool. Walked round enjoying the ship taking pictures and eating cakes from the International Cafe - one of our favourite places. Formal night tonight so off to get ready and have our formal portraits done before a nice dinner.

Day 4: St Maarteen - Off to orient beach using the taxis at the pier and a another beautiful day. Only complaint was 1hr wait for a burger and chips at one of the beach restaurants lol ah well. - Back to the ship for some photos outside and a rest on a sun lounger after a "busy" day laying in the sun :)Mum and dad went off to see a production show.

Day 5: St Thomas - we went to coki beach and after some disappointing weather at first turned out beautiful. Beach is amazing and has been improved with new facilities. After the day back to the ship and take some pictures from outside and ended up buying a camera at the duty free shop - oops :). More food at the international cafe / trident pizza bar and then down to get ready for the second formal night. Some more formal night portraits then dinner then winning at the casino :)

Day 6: Grand Turk - What can i say about this port - WOW Amazing!!!. Such a beautiful port. Dock right into the beach and how clear is the water. Such a lovely day just a shame not long enough at the island. Some duty free shopping in the massive shop by the pier and lots of sunset shots and back to the ship.

Day 7: Sea Day - Sad day being the last day but enjoyable still. Lazy day lots of food and final pictures of the ship.

Disembarkation - Apart from our tour to dolphin mall being cancelled completely flawless and efficient - shame just a 8 hour wait at the airport.

Overall: Completely amazing week and a spotless ship. All staff were friendly and helpful. You will not go wrong by picking the Ruby Princess. Top class holiday enjoyed by all :)
