Hard to believe that Marcoottawa and Greencay were both on the exact same cruise. I have to agree with Marcoottawa's review a LOT more than Greencay's review. This was about our 5th time on the Sapphire Princess and first time after the so-called "refit." Well, it WAS refit, but other than in the Piazza on deck 5 in the Atrium and the movie screen, it was pretty hard to find any improvements. Don't get me wrong; it's a fine ship, but it just seemed that the refit was pretty hyped up last year and didn't seem like much of anything else was done. Even one night in the Dining Room, they were replacing carpet toward the end of the evening. Really? That couldn't have been done during the trip up to Vancouver in January?

Anyhow, we had a great cruise with some friends we made on the Paul Gauguin French Polynesia cruise we went on back in August last year and decided to cruised together again. The four of us had a FANTASTIC 8-top table on the 2nd sitting in the dining More room (table 55 with Peter and Giland -- EXCELLENT service and food ALL week long). Can't understand that that same service and food could have been any different on the second to the last cruise before ours, but everyone has their perceptions, I guess.

That said, the same experience cannot be said for the quality of room service. Every time we travel on Princess, it is inconsistent at best, but it's definitely not the most important part of the trip.

Still on the food/dining aspect, what really stood out was our Ultimate Balcony Dining experience on our overnight anchor in Cabo San Lucas. The four of us enjoyed that experience immensely and I highly recommend it. The new pizzeria in the Piazza was another great experience not to be missed -- and grab a couple of "starters" over at the nearby International Cafe while you wait for your made-to-order pizza to be delivered to your table.

As always, our cabin steward was top-notch and we had GREAT service from Mariano all week long once again aboard the Sapphire.

All in all, another FINE cruise from Princess for a trip that we seem to be repeating to the Mexican Riviera more than once a year!!!

I'm leaving out a lot, but I couldn't really have said it better than Marco did on the previous review to mine!!

Oh, and embarkation and disembarkation were a BREEZE. We showed up LATER this time compared to previous cruises (i.e., after 2 P.M.) and literally walked right on and waited in no lines whatsoever. Exiting the ship was pretty much the same experience: about a half-hour from the time our number was called to the time we were behind the wheel leaving the parking lot. Less
