We loved our week on the Thomson Dream. We boarded in Barbados which is great for us as that's where we live! So no flights needed. Just pack a bag and walk on.
The Entertainment in the Broad Way Lounge was fantastic each night. Paula and her crew in the Destination Services took fantastic care of all on board and helped with all our tours in each port. They were always on hand in the port to make sure we got on the right tour and that we were looked after. The Midnight Buffet on the Friday night where the Chefs showcased their talent was fantastic and well worth staying up for! We actually had tea, went to sleep and set our alarms so that we woke up and went to the Buffet!
Had a fun tour "Rhumba on the Chiva" in Margarita Island, Venezuela. The latin music was blasting and we were dancing. My one disappointment was the when we stopped to shop for pearls. I bought a pendant and earings set for a real cheap price. Guess it was too good to be true. By the end of the day the 'gold' colour of the settings was already turning black!
In Tobago we went on the Glass Bottom Buccoo Reef tour - which included being allowed off the boat to snorkel - right over a sting ray. Way cool!
The cruise ended in Barbados - which is home for us, so we just packed our bags and walked off. Because Thomson considered us Independents, we were allowed to keep our suitcase and just pull it off with us when we were ready to leave. Though who is ever ready to leave that lovely ship?
