The Carnival Spirit is all you could want in a cruise ship. The balcony cabin we had was ideal for the cruise to the Mexican Riviera since the weather was ideal. The price was right. We booked at the last minute (Feb. 19th) and got a balcony cabin for $699pp +tax. The embarkation was fast. We arrived at the cruise terminal at 11am and was on board by noon where we had lunch waiting. The debarkation was just as good. We docked at 7am and we were at the airport by 9:30am in plenty of time to catch our scheduled flight back to Florida at 11:35am.
The balcony cabin was spacious and the cabin stewards were adequate. The only complaint we had with the service was that when we left for breakfast at 7am each morning and returned to get dressed for the day at 9am they had not yet made up the cabin. We had the same complaint that when we returned from dinner at 8pm (we had early seating and the steward was turning the bed down) which made it difficult to get ready for the evening activities.
The three production shows were outstanding except for the one rap piece that passes for music these days. The other one person shows and guest night were well below what we were use to on other cruise lines.
