Arrived at the Jacksonville Port, luggage was taken at curbside, entered VIP embarkation area and was on the Lido deck within 20 minutes of arrival. Everyone involved in the embarkation process was outstanding and friendly.
Had lunch at the buffet on Lido, burgers and fries. Rooms were ready by the time we finished.
Our cabin was U-73, classified as a Grand Suite with balcony. It was outstanding. Large room with walk-in closet which held much more than we actually put into it. There were so many drawers in the room that many were empty even after I put everything away. The room also had a bar area with different sized glasses.
Bathroom was very nice; had a juccuzi tub/shower combination. Water pressure was wonderful. Makeup mirror and hair dryer on wall. Shower had built in shampoo and shower gel dispensers.
Sofa had either twin pull outs or king. Not sure since we didn't need them.
Large picture window and glass door leading onto balcony. Two chairs, one of which reclined, and one table on balcony.
Cabin steward was outstanding as was all of the staff on board, with the exception of one Swedish girl who brought room service one morning. I have no complaints with any of the staff. Everyone we encountered went out of their way to accommodate any request we made.
Ship was very clean and polished and everything we encountered was in working order.
Dining is a matter of taste so I will offer no review. There were lots of options and we did not go hungry. We had anytime dining and never had a wait for a table. We ordered room service coffee every morning and it was always on time. It was a bit strong for us so we ordered one pot of regular and one decaf and combined them. Worked perfectly for us.
We could not drink the water but a lot of people did so it could have just been our taste. If we were going again, I would bring my own water.
Casino was fun but strictly for entertainment so do not plan to win anything. Slots did not pay off or even throw us an occasional bone. After never winning a dime, we went to Atlantis at Nassau and won big within one hour. Drinks were expensive all over the ship.
Debarkation was ahead of schedule and only took about 30 minutes once our zoned was called.
Overall, for a short, no frills cruise, I would recommend the Fascination.
