This was our third cruise. Our first was with Celebrity (Galaxy-10 day southern Caribbean)and the second with Royal Caribbean (7 day eastern Caribbean). RC was good but Celebrity was more upscale-better service, fewer annoying announcements, etc.
I read other reviews where people were ripping apart the cabins, service and even saying the ship was creaking where they could not sleep. I have the opposite to state. Our cabin attendant, Efram, was fantastic! He provided constant first class service. He was always within sight with a constant friendly hello. And for those of you who like the "animals" left in your stateroom, we were always surprised by what we found after dinner.
Contrary to the last review I read, the food was outstanding, including the crab stuffed lobster. That meal was fantastic in addition to the steak kabobs, wonderful soups, appetizers and desserts. We've been Googling Celebrity's menu since our return to see how to make some of those meals. We don't have any complaints about the foods. We went to the lunch buffet and what a marvelous time to have it! No more having to stay awake until midnight, which is sometimes hard to do when you're relaxing all day.
The ship itself is first class. While our cruise partners had a balcony room across the hall, we had an inside stateroom. Very spacious. No complaints from us about nightstands not having drawers or not having a shelf in the closet. Come on, how picky do you have to be? This is a vacation, not a permanent home! Our room had everything we needed to feel comfortable. You can't stay at a resort and have your room cleaned twice a day with fresh towels, but we did on this ship. Our bed was very comfortable and the pillows were fine. I never missed my expensive mattress at home.
While we did notice a reduction in staff from our previous cruise on Celebrity (fewer pool attendants and cocktail waiters) the service was excellent. We always like lemon in our water at dinner and after asking the first night, it was always brought to us automatically. They do pay attention to details. And we did get extra special treatment from the wait staff since we had asked for a gluten free menu. They spent extra time telling us about our food choices and we never had to make any compromises. Kuddo's to Celebrity for this extra special attention we received. We chose the Select Dining option and even got our same requested table every night. That, my friends, is service.
We agree with others that on a ship of this size you never felt crowded at any of the facilities. Plenty of room for all whether it be poolside, at a bar, or in the casino. The theatre experience was awesome, always with enough seating for every show. Even while disembarking, there was fewer people at the gathering spots and it was an easier process than our first cruise.
Another impressive feature were the hand sanitizers everywhere. We loved it. Shame on other who don't use these as they should. We especially liked it when the staff was dispensing the sanitizers as you enter the eating facilities or returning from a shore excursion.
A suggestion for future ships would be to add a sports bar. A sports themed area with TV's to catch your favorite sporting event. I missed not being able to catch up on my favorite hockey team.
Celebrity has sold us on their cruise line. We have no desire to try anyone else. Why, when you've had the best. Keep up what you are doing because you are doing it right! Can't wait for our next adventure, it will be back to the 10 day cruise we so much enjoyed the first time! Thank you for making our vacation a fantastic experience.
