Cheerleading for the Carnival Destiny. You Bet! My wife and drove from Devils Lake ND to Minneapolis and flew to Miami. We stayed at the SeaGull Hotel on South Beach. This is not a 5 star hotel, but it was clean and beside an issue with a broken mattress and having to get a rope to get my wife out of the hole, (They moved us right away) it was a good hotel. The staff was great and we really appreciated Jesse at the front desk for all her help. But that is a whole different review!
Embarcation was quick and painless. We walked into the VIP lounge, got checked in and waited about 20 minutes before we got on the ship. We met a great couple and their two sons from Iowa that had not been on a cruise before and looking at their review (Greekgirl13) they too had a great time.
We have been on the Destiny before, so we took a walk after some lunch to remind ourselves where everything was. Our cabin was ready about 1pm and we started to unpack. There was plenty of room for everything we had and the dressing room (ocean suite) was one of the best parts of the cabin. Our cabin steward, Phillip, was excellent. We were on the ship for 14 days and he had a different towel animal every night. It was fun just to see what was coming next. Our cabin was always clean and Phillip had a nice word for us every time we saw him. We learned that his wife also worked on the ship and that they have a 4 year old son in the Philippines. What a great family.
