Had a great time on the Carnival Freedom during January. We loved the boat and found it rather easy to navigate to all locations on the ship.
Room: we had an oceanview room and by far this was one of the best rooms and layout we have experienced on any cruise boat to date. Our Cabin Steward and his helper were awesome and fulfilled all of our special request with a smile. We left additional tips to let them know we appreciated what they did to help us enjoy our vacation. Carnival needs to come up with a way that two people can access the safe. I loved having the mini fridge!
Food regular dining room: Food was wonderful. Selection was great and we ate in the dining room all but one night which we spent in the speciality restaurant.
Speciality Restaurant: The speciality steak house was very good. We really thought that the food was excellent! The servers, and chef all saw to any request and the food was over the top great!
Casino: I was a little disappointed on the smoke in the casino. I have known that the Casino was one of the places smokers could smoke on the boat and this was the worst of any boat we have been on in a long time. The machines did not pay out as good as many other boats we have cruised on. I only heard of maybe three people winning decently on slots. Black Jack wins were low too from what I saw and heard.
Pool area: Loved the Adults only pool. Wished Carnival would enforce the unused chair policy. Had a hard time getting a place to sun due to all day holding of chairs.
Embarkation: Found the port rather confusing. Parking and luggage drop off was rather mixed up due to lack of signage.
Disembarkation: Went rather well and we were off the boat earlier than I thought we would be.
Shore Excursions: Nice selection of events and activities were offered.
