Early 60s married couple with experience of 8 cruises. We like the Freestyle with the no schedule meals and varied entertainment venues. We usually select a cruise based on destinations and desire to go to new places.
The Epic had many good offerings and a few things needing improved. First, what we liked were the entertainment (Blue Man; Howl show; 2nd City; Fat Cats); choice of dining options and no set schedule; easy on/off the ship; sightseeing and beaches at St Martin and St Thomas; comfortable cabin and bed.
What we would like to see changed or improved were high cost of internet (this should be at no charge - we want to stay connected without the very high fees); the food was generally bland in all restaurants without any choices for spicy or herbs added as options to add taste; lack of a promenade deck is a negative; allowing smoking in the casino was a detractor to spending time there; the library was subpar and had no view from the reading room.
Cabin balcony had a steel plate that restricted the water view when inside the cabin.
Also, there was more swaying movement probably due to being the first cabin in the front of the ship.
The bed was comfortable, and I liked the shower, toilet setup, although my wife did not like having the sink next to the bed.
We would not want this cabin again.
