The designers of the Epic had a great chance to make this ship magnificent. They dropped the ball. The staff is great and very seasoned. They took care of any questions or problems as soon as they cropped up.
Now for the rest of the review. If you are getting a wave stateroom and are taller that 5'10 I would not recommend it. The beds are tiny. The joke going around everyday was "did you sleep last nite?" If you like to sleep in the fetal position then you will be fine, but if you like to sleep with your legs straight out forget it. Your feet will hang off of the bed a mile.
The regular food is edible but just barely. The main restaurants offer the same food every day and it is not very good. The speciality restaurants have fantastic food and that is the reason the rest is not good. They want you to pay extra for good cuisine. Choices are very limited in the non pay food areas and most of the time the food was lukewarm at best.
Room service usually took 15 minutes on hold before anyone would take your order. Then another 45 minutes to get to your room.
Blue man group is wonderful. Very good show. Second City is hit or miss. The first time was good, the second time the room was half empty fifteen minutes into the show from all of the people leaving because they were bombing. The rest of the entertainment was good.
Getting on and off the ship was easy. They no longer have a Latitudes line. You just get in any line and go.
All in all this ship needs help. It is big and bulky but feels cramped everywhere you go. Small hallways, small rooms. Not a lot of room to maneuver in the lower public areas. Kind of like walking in downtown Manhattan during lunch hour.
Do not change your plans based on this review. This is only my opinion and your experience will be different than mine. This is just my take on our week with NCL.
