Ship Facts: Legend of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Legend of the Seas Deck Plans
Another great cruise
im only writing this after reading a dissapointing review of the same cruise below. i booked this cruise the day before christmas for sailing on the 13th of january. there were six of us, 3 cabins, myself my son, my sister and her 2 boys and my mother. i have sailed on the legend twice before with my mother, same cruise last year plus the hong kong to china via places for 14 nights.

this cruise was for 8 nights from singapore to bali for 2 days and then lombok and back to singapore. my son was the first person on board and we were greated by sanni and his offsider who were lovely and proved to be great fun thruout the cruise. we headed straight up to the windjammer for a feed as we had travelled thru the night by tiger airways and had been hanging around the terminal/shopping centre all morning and were famished.

we all found the food on the legend to be of good quality, using the windjammer for breakfast and lunch and the main dining room for lunch and dinner. we had late seating and sat at a table for twelve. so six new people to get to know. unfortunately 2 were from germany and didnt speak english but nodded alot with smiles on their face, a solo traveller from belgium was multi lingual and kept up with them. the other 3 were from the eastern states of australia and were good fun. all the usual royal carribean food with the desserts being the main let down.

we saw nearly all the shows, they were the same as previous cruises but i really enjoy the abfab one. the cover group of the beatles certainly got people dancing and didnt sound too bad either.

i dont know where the previous reviewer was on ship but we saw the captain all the time. at the captains welcome, 2x repeat cruisers events, the goodbye show, poolside for the crossing of the equator ceremony and just bumping into him on deck all the time. in fact i found all the officers very friendly and chatty, especially the lovely looking one from birmingham that lives in hungary, i think he was hotel manager. third cruise on this ship and fourth cruise director, first cruise had a changeover half way thru. he was ok, quite witty and sung a good song at the beginning of the cruise. sanni, who did all the trivia competitions was lovely. we really enjoyed our time with him. he handled a couple of really obnoxious americans really well. everyone supported him on that.

having been to bali more times than i can count, we didnt bother with the ship excursions and just arranged a driver for the day to take us wherever we wanted, $40.00 for 10 hours in an eightseater four wheel drive. we went to treetops adventures, seaside restaurant in legian for lunch and shopping. so a good day for all ages. following day we went to waterbom park and more shopping. in lombok i had got a guide and tour driver from a tripadvisor reccommendation. him, the driver eight seater vehicle, boat hire to an island, snorkelling gear, boat hire back, very long trip in vehicle to a restaurant in sengiggi then back to the boat for about $130.00 for all six of us. the rest of the days were sea days and we enjoyed the activities on board. we found there was plenty to keep our 15,16 and 17 years old boys occupied.

we all had inside cabins and although they were smaller than others we have had on this ship, they were clean and well maintained. my sisters room (who loves the airconditioning on full) had the poorest aircon of the three, mine always seemed too cold and didnt seem to be able turn it down. public areas were spotless and this ship might be old but it has a classier feel to it than the independance (which i still loved) which we cruised on last easter.
