First it has to be said that our family LOVES cruising. It is what my wife and I (and probably my adult children and their families) will do from the first cruise on. Also, this is NOT about individuals, only the cruise line. Having said that, Carnival Liberty to the Eastern Caribbean was mildly disappointing. This cruise let us know that we will have to do a LOT more research in order to find a suitable cruise for us. We were disappointed due to: -Six calls made before we had a room service menu. -The balcony was largely ignored by the cleaning staff. The only time it was cleaned was when we left a written note, the glass was never cleaned. We got the impression that we were supposed to be out of the room by a certain time every day in order for the room to be really cleaned. -The buffet seemed to be designed to herd us all into eating at the same time. After 10-11PM there was no food to be found, except for pizza, which at times had 10 or more people waiting in line. The buffet eggs seemed like EggBeaters, the "Omelette Shoppe" or whatever had long lines. Finding a place to sit and eat caused problems. -The dining room was cold! -Our clothing was ruined in the luggage (probably due to someone smuggling liquor) and the staff did not address it for ~36 hours, leaving them ruined due to their drying out As was said, we will cruise again, we just don't know if Carnival will be the cruise line.

Port and Shore Excursions

The terminal was easy enough to find. This port has NO VALET PARKING, so if you're driving you will have to park in a garage yourself and make it back to the terminal. Luckily for us parking was just across the street, that may not be the case every time. Parking at the time of our cruise was $20/day, so budget for $140 for parking at the end of your cruise. When you pay remember this: if you have a handicap, parking is greatly reduced, pay the attendant when you leave, or at least make sure you get the receipt for your parking or prepared to be detained by the attendant before you can leave.

As of 2008, valet parking. Tip the valet, gave him $100 and that was taken care of. Get there early to make it through the crowds. Simpler.
