This was a wonderful cruise, we were expecting the worst at embarkment based on the reviews for the earlier cruises out of Cape Liberty.
We arrived 2 days early and decided to enjoy NYC, stayed in Time Square, toured around met up with family, did the tourist thing.
We took the train fromTime Square out to Newport NJ then hopped onto the light rail got off at 33 & E - got a cab for a total of $14 ( for 2 people) versus getting a private car at a cost of $85.
We were expecting to stand in line for about 1.5-2 hrs based on what we read from previous cruises but it was only about 15 minutes, they had made some changes which was good for us.
We have cruises on the Equinox twice and the Silhouette is just as nice, some better restaurant options, we loved Qsine and the Lawn Club Grill is a FUN evening. Getting to cook your own food with the help of a chef is definitely something everyone should do, truly a fun and relaxed evening.
Shopping is definitely on the higher end, not so sure that is necessary as the average cruiser isn't going to spend there dollars on the ship versus in the ports.
Weather was chilly for the first 3 days ( at sea,) but once we reached the islands it was amazing, hot hot hot!
We have booked another cruise for the fall, just love cruising with Celebrity.
