2ND time I have cruised on NCL. I will never go NCL again. I said the same after the first cruise and went against my better judgement and booked again anyway due to the itinerary and departure date.

The balcony cabin was laughable it was SO small. I expect cabins to be small but this was unbelievable. The Spirit has the smallest cabins by far of any other cruise line I have experienced. Two people could barely sit on the balcony and it was not comfortable. Passengers pay a higher price for the luxury of a balcony, and this case one does not get what one pays for. There is no mini-fridge. There is a space for it, however, it has been removed. The walls are paper thin and we could hear the bathroom door opening and closing on one side and the children coming, going, laughing and crying on the other side. The beds were the worst I have EVER slept on in my entire life. Basically it was like sleeping on a camping cot. I awoke every night with a horrible back ache which kept me awake until I finally got up at about 0600, took some Tylenol and gave it up and went for coffee. Again, one expects tight spaces in the bathroom, but this was the smallest bathroom I have ever seen on a cruise ship. Anyone taller than about 5' 4" will have knee contact with the wall while seated. There was mold in the bathroom and the window drapes were dirty and tattered. The carpet was severely worn and if there had ever been padding under the carpet, it had long been worn away and disintegrated. The cabin was uninviting and not comfortable by any description.

The food was surprisingly good and the staff was courteous and attentive. On more than one occasion in the buffet dining room, a staff member offered to carry my tray to the table. Pool beverage service was excellent and since we tended to sit in about the same place everyday, the wait staff remembered us and what we liked to drink. This was much appreciated.
