Ship Facts: Freedom of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Freedom of the Seas Deck Plans
Fresh off Freedom
We booked our cruise through RCI and Danesh our cruise planner was wonderful in every aspect. Before we sailed ther was a price drop and Danesh reduced our fare with a simple phone call. We flew out of Minneapolis a day early and spent Saturday night at Country Inn and Suites in Cape Canaveral. The hotel was beautiful and provided a full breakfast on Sunday morning. My parents joined us on Sunday and the hotel only charged them $35 to park their car for the entire week.

Embarkation was easy and quick, just a note, at the terminal enter on the right side. All the buses and shuttles use the left side and only the passanger cars use the right side, we had no lines at all while there were long lines on the left to get through security.

This was our first cruise and we were amazed at the size of the ship. Our cabins were ready when we boarded so we dropped our carry-ons and explored. The entire ship was beautiful. We ate lunch in the Windjammer and then hit the pool.

Our cabin was amazing and we had a large balcony because we were under the whirlpools and decks 8,9 and 10 under them have larger balconies. Our stateroom attendant Ricardo was very nice and did a great job with our cabins.

The highlight of our cruise was dinner. Our waiter Tyrone Payne and his assistant Celestain were amazing, consider yourselves lucky if you get them. All week they brought us dishes from Portifino and Chops and we did not see any others get this perk. The food was perfect all week in all the restaurants.

The entertainment was beyond great and our cruise director Allan was fantastic.

The ship never felt crowded and the lines for everything were short. Just a tip, make your show reservations online, the were many people upset because the had to wait to get into the shows. The dreamworks characters were a hit with our 6 year old and the Adventure ocean staff was great. The only complaint was to those who let their ill manared children run wild all week, but there was not many children on board.

Our ports were ok, Labadee is nice but the beach is not the greatest, bring water shoes. The dragon tail coaster was fun, but the zipline was not worth the cost to us. The shops were high pressure but be sure to haggle. Falmouth has a very nice pier area but town was kind of a dump, same high pressure sales atmosphere and again be sure to haggle on prices. Grand Cayman was nice, We did a Stingray City tour with Sotos Cruises and it was amazing, the kids favorite by far. Cozumel was our favorite, we did a day at Nochi Cocom beach. The beach was beautiful and the food was awesome, well worth th price of $55 for adults, all inclusive.

Debarkation was easy as well. We ate in the Windjammer until we were called and our bags arrived quickly at the carousel and off we went.

This was the best vacation ever for our family. In my opinion if you don't have fun here you will not have fun anywhere. Cudos to the entire RCI team.
