Went on the celebrity eclipse easter caribbean cruise in january with my mum and dad, it was my first cruise and their second. I didn't honestly know what to expect but i was beyond words when i saw it, let alone when i got inside it!! it is a beautiful ship. there was so much exploring to be done, and it was endless, it was literally as amazing as some of the best hotels we have stayed in. there was so much to do at all hours of the day and it never seemed at all busy - maybe apart from the formal evenings when everyone was around at the same time but it gave that extra buzz to the night!
we had the sky suite at the back of the boat, it was huge, and the balcony was first class!! if the pool area was too busy during the day on a really hot day then all 3 of us could quite easily soak up the rays in the privacy of our balcony.
the food on board was exceptional - in the moonlight sonata restuarant as well as the speciality restuarants, we ate in blu and qsine - both fantastic - far too much food in qsine but it was quite something and a wonderful experience!
the staff - waiters, barmen, butler, house staff, entertainment - were all so friendly, happy and polite as well as very efficient.
the shows were first class - we saw the ventriliquist who was hilarious, some singing and dancing productions, comedian and others - all wonderful, a lot of hard work put into everything there.
cruise director, mike, was friendly, always on the go and great at his job.
the ports of call were awesome, puerto rico, st maarten and st kitts, weather was great apart from a wee tropical storm in st kitts and a bit of a choppy sail that evening, but makes the experience! i had my sea sickness pills ot sort me out!!! wonderful captain and all officers were well turned out, polite and would always acknowledge you - whether it was just to say hello or stop and have a chat with you.
we had absolutely no complaints, all praise, and would most definitely go back again! my parents were worried there would be no-one else my age there at that time of the year (24) and also weren't sure if i would be bored - absolutely no chance of that, i loved every minute of it - as did they!! and must say our favourite place to hang out of an evening (before and after dinner/show) was the martini bar! very entertaining staff - very talented, funny and smiley!
if you go you will not be disappointed - well we certainly weren't!!
