Sail Date: Jan 2012
Cabin: Family Oceanview Stateroom

There were 4 of us traveling (mom and 3 adult daughters) We booked a family oceanview room and couldn't of been happier with the size and layout. For pictures you can search voyager family oceanview 8200 on cruise critic.

We arrived one day early into New Orleans. Stayed at the Embassy Suites which was a good value for the money. Easy walking to French Quarter and about 2 blocks from the pier. Further taking a taxi, due to one way streets. If you don't have too much luggage and are up for a walk, it is easy to do. Unfortunately, my mom has mobility issues so we all took a cab. They charge $7.00 per person flat fee (did I mention 2 blocks walking!) We chose to take advantage of the free breakfast buffet at the hotel and checked out at 12:00.

Embarkation went very smoothly. I was a little worried from previous posts, but it looks like they have worked out any earlier issues. We were on board by 1 ish and was told that the rooms would be ready at 2:00, since they had to do a deep cleaning, due to the Noro Virus (you were handed a paper at check in about how to avoid the virus, but no real mention that it was on the ship. I could tell from previous posts that it was still an issue.

Cabin Review

Family Oceanview Stateroom

Cabin FO

Largest non-suite room on the ship. Cabin 8200 is a family oceanview cabin that is the largest of the 8 they have on the ship. The two on deck 8 are layed out different, so you truely have two separate sleeping areas and a living room in between. You can search this this site for Voyager cabin 8200 pictures and see pictures of both 8200 and 8500.
