We arrived one day early into New Orleans. Stayed at the Embassy Suites which was a good value for the money. Easy walking to French Quarter and about 2 blocks from the pier. Further taking a taxi, due to one way streets. If you don't have too much luggage and are up for a walk, it is easy to do. Unfortunately, my mom has mobility issues so we all took a cab. They charge $7.00 per person flat fee (did I mention 2 blocks walking!) We chose to take advantage of the free breakfast buffet at the hotel and checked out at 12:00.

Embarkation went very smoothly. I was a little worried from previous posts, but it looks like they have worked out any earlier issues. We were on board by 1 ish and was told that the rooms would be ready at 2:00, since they had to do a deep cleaning, due to the Noro Virus (you were handed a paper at check in about how to avoid the virus, but no real mention that it was on the ship.
