Ship Facts: Brilliance of the Seas Review (by Cruise Critic!) | Brilliance of the Seas Deck Plans
Brilliance of the Seas 16-23 January 2012
Just returned from a cruise on the BOS which we really enjoyed. We arrived at the port just before 9am and on the ship before 11am. Cabins were available at 1pm so we had lunch in the Windjammer when it opened.

We were on Main seating for dinner and our waiter was Jing who was lovely so friendly and efficient. The food was on the usual standard we had experience before and we had no complaints about the food. The only downside was that 2 American ladies who were at our table always arrived very late despite getting gentle reminders from the waiter which is all they can do. We ate sometimes at breakfast in the MDR due to being Diamond members but lunch we had in the Windjammer which was alright.

We enjoyed the nightly entertainment shows. Captains welcome on Board and Welcome back parties were a disappointment as they were held for all passengers at the same time and was so crowded.

Didn't do any ship excursions but used the shuttles at the ports as you couldn't just walk off the ship. Fujairah was just to the Lulu supermarket which was just like a Tesco Extra and wasn't worth doing. Oman the shuttle took us to the port gates where taxi drivers mobbed you to hire them and couldn't understand we just wanted to walk. You could easily walk to the souk along the corniche which was nice to do. Abu Dhabi the shuttle took you to Marina Mall which was worth doing and a nice ride along the seafront but it was too windy to do any walking. Dubai port shuttles were a disappointed as it was confusing as conflicting info was given as to what ones were turning up. After waiting 30mins or so a lot of passengers got taxis but as we were staying in Dubai after the cruise we decided not to bother and just go back on board. Passengers who did the excursions seem to enjoy them and we never heard any negative feedback.

Disembarkation went smoothly and we left the ship at 9am our alloted time.

All in all a great cruise
