My DH and I (mid 20's) took the Voyager of the Seas in Nov 2010, had such an amazing time that we booked the Mariner of the Seas, not knowing it was the first sailing out of Galveston. I'm not sure if that was the reason behind the kinks, but we assumed so. It was more disappointing because we convinced two other couples to travel with us based on our last experience...but this cruise was not that great.

We sailed through the line and through the security scan...then due to the ship being delayed we sat in the waiting area for approx. 2hrs. When we got on, around 1 pm, we were told that it would be 3 pm before we could access our room.

The room was clean, we hardly saw our steward and the first night we did not get our luggage until after dinner (close to 9 pm). Our biggest complaint was the alcohol, it took forever to get out of America waters so we could have anything beside Miller Lite in a can! I saw other couples drinking wine but when I asked I was told that they were not...which I could clearly see them! My only thought could be that maybe they bought a wine package. Once the cruise began though 90% of the drinks that were not served straight from a bottle were horrible!! The bartenders made nasty drinks and half the time they were out of something or another (i.e. mint leaves for mojitos, etc.)
