The Spirit is an older ship, but overall in good condition; most common areas are well-appointed. Room size (balcony stateroom) was fine, but there was no fridge (only the suites have fridges on the Spirit). There were no facilities on board where one could do laundry - this may be fine if you are only taking a 7 day cruise, but if the cruise is part of a longer holiday (as was ours), the lack of laundry facilities is a shortcoming.

Our dining experiences can best be described as mixed. Ate in most of the specialty restaurants - Le Bistro and Cagneys were nice, but are they value when compared to the surcharge? La Trattoria was mediocre, and the service was hurried. Shogun has unattractive surroundings and the quality of food was unexceptional - not worth a surcharge. The Windows dining room is quite nice, the food was generally good, but service spotty. Had one dinner in the Garden dining room; it was very crowded and noisy - suggest it be avoided as Windows is much nicer.

Was disappointed that no information was provided on the ports to be visited (history, points of interest, etc.); all that was provided was never-ending information on which shopping was recommended by NCL. Throughout the cruise there was messaging promoting us to spend money on something offered on board or at some shop on shore.
