We have taken 15 cruises on 5 different cruise lines and this cruise was one of our favorites. This is an adventure not to be missed by anyone. It's even better if you can go to Iguazu Falls before boarding the ship in Buenos Aires.I highly recommend this aded adventure. We flew from Buenos Aires to Iguazu Falls on New Years day and spent the full day with a private tour guide at the falls. It was an outstanding sight, far greater than Niagara. You have to see it to believe it. The falls from the Argentinian side is wonderful. It is not necessary to go to the Brazilian side and pay the high cost for the visa. You only need one full day to see everything in Iguazu National Park and then fly back to Buenos Aires for rest and relaxation. We stayed at the Sheraton Park Tower in Buenos Aires and I would highly recommend it. Very clean, excellent service and wonderful restaurants. Our room overlooked the city and it was just beautful. We also took a private tour of Buenos Aires before More
boarding the Infinity. Also excellent. We used TravelBound through our travel agent. Excellent, efficient company especially since servioce was provided on a holiday weekend.
Embarking the Infinity was fast and easy. It took about 20 minutes to be in our cabin. Since the ship just came out of drydock all the carpets and bedding were changed and everything was sparkling new and clean. We had an oceanview cabin in the front of the ship and the view going through the Beagel Channel was spectacular. We usually take a balcony but we felt with the cooler temperatures, we would not use it much and we were right. Much to our surprise, we didn't even miss the balcony and used the saved money for the shore excursions.
The service was as we expected- excellent. Everyone worked so hard to please every passenger and their kindness was wonderful. We have sailed with Celebrity many times before and this outstanding service and fdelicious ood is what brings us back each time. the productions shows were very good. The Celebrity singers and dancers are good enough to perform on Broadway. One night we ate in Qsine and it was so unusual. You have o experience it because you will always remember this experience. We also ate an early brekfast at Bistro on 5 and that, too, was excellent. The Beyond the Podium speaker, Graham Sunderland was so informative and quite witty. We really enjoyed his presentations. The ship was wonderful but the itinerary is the best part. Less
Wonderful city with a rich European heritage and delicious restaurants with very friendly people. Don't miss the La Boca district. Seeing the tango dancers, the shops and the local artists was quite memorable.
we took a Celebrity shore excursion to Petrohue Rapids and Puerto Varas. The rapids were nice but too many bugs and horse flies. the Osorno Volcano is in the background wherever you go and it is a lovely sight. Our lunch in Puerto Varas was delicious but the town itself is not much to see.
Got off the ship and walked into town. It was just 4 blocks to town square. There's a lovely craft market in town where they seel alpaca everything...sweaters, hats, scarves, gloves which made great gifts. We felt safe during our walk into town.
we delarted the infinity in Valpairso and took a Celebrity shor excursion to Vina del Mar and then to Santiago's airport. Vina del Mar is a lovely seaside resort with beautiful flowers. The views from the top of Santiago is excellent but there is a lot of pollution which obstructs things.
Took a Celebrity shore excursion on a catamaran to Sea Wolves Island, the light house at the end of the world, and Tierra del Fuego National Park. The catamaran ride was excellent, comfortable and allowed us to see cormorants, sea lions, and sea elephants up close. Tierra del Fuego park is not very pretty but the landscape is outstanding. The views of the Andes mountains are spectacular.
