The cruise to nowhere
Firstly this was supposed to be 3 port cruise- Cabo San Lucas, Mazetlan and Puerta Vallarta, but found out after booking that Mazetlan was cancelled (due to crime, according to reviews) and not replaced- instead we spent 2 days in Cabos, a small tender port with little to do.
We decided to go anyway just to chill, because we were already in San Diego for a conference and our options were limited.
That was just the beginning.
We hated the preassigned seating and set dining time. It's just not for us. And the drink waiters pushing drinks from morning (yes, with breakfast) till night gets tiresome. As does having to go through the smoky casino to get through the ship.
The food was consistently poor quality, the decor a cheap looking gross pink zebra theme, our cabin very noisy from our neighbours slamming the balcony door constantly and partying all hours of the night, waking us up.
And I don't know if schools were out but there were tons of More kids running around unsupervised. (And why oh why would there be a Kids evening program from 10 pm-3 am - no joke!! specifically for 9-11year olds)
Generally a nightmare.
There is another reviewer here that says it well, KEG306, and with few exceptions, I agree. Our cruise was a week later, but the experience similar.
If there was a bright side it was that the cabin crew were very polite and efficient. And the dining room wait staff team was great.
We will not likely ever go again on Carnival if this is what it is like.
For a few dollars more book another cruise.
We have nothing but good to say about Norwegian. We will book them for our mediterranean cruise next year. Less
