We have cruised the Carib three times, the Horn, the Med, the Baltics and Alaska once each. Cruised with 4 different lines. This time, we were originally in the back of the ship and requested a mid ship cabin if available. Princess met our request and that was much appreciated. The Princess staff were very helpful and accomodating. This itinerary is fantastic - two weeks with only two days at sea. All of the islands are interesting - some more than others. I can never complain about cruise food - and lots of variety on this cruise as well. The food was fine. As an aside, I can never understand people complaining about food on a major cruise -what are you eating at home ? The selection is incredible on every cruise I have been on. Dining varies cruise ship to cruise ship - just like restaurant to restaurant. Nora was a fantastic room attendant, second room attendent could use some work (ety trash, replace shampoo, replace water, replace ice, clean shower drain. Ryan and Kenny and ?(sorry)? were great at the wine and tapa bar. Christopher is a fine barista. Buffet staff were hit and miss - right up the to the maitre d's. We totally avoided the dining rooms this time - don't ask me why. We enjoyed the pizza - very good, like our favorite in Rome (Via Nazionale East). Entertainment was mid line. Not much into the review shows. Bars were good. Bar staff were good. Ship shows its age to some degree but no serious complaints. All the lounge chair claiming is a bit tiresome - throw a towel at 8am and claim the chair all day. The new No Smoking enforcement needs lots of work. Smokers forced to the walking deck - the walking deck on the major lounging deck - it all doesn't work if you want to do laps. All in All --- 3.5 out of 5 --- Very Good.

Cabin review:

Our initial cabin was in back of the ship and vibrated excessively. It bothered me at night - that said , it did not bother my wife. I complained and the front desk responded immediately and logged my complaint. I was offered a mid ship room for week two. Wonderful job of accomodating my needs. Both cabins were balcony rooms and Port side offered more sun, but both offered great viewing.

Port and Shore Excursions

interesting island - cactus , lots of cactus
nice Island tour but the cruise stop is the best part of the island - although the beach and resort section also looked nice. Arube was an awesome stop. Great food at Iguana Joes.
took a taxi off the pier to the Harrison cave tram before the tour buses got there. Taxi driver Vincent was excellent. It rained all day but he showed us around and apologized for the rain. Very nice guy and highly recommended. Then to San Juan - did a rainforest tour. Good Then to St Martin / St Maarten - great place to just wander -- take a taxi from one city to the other for 7 US. St Lucia - island tour and usual suspects.

Interesting - make sure your island tour guide off the pier comes with a driver that speaks good english. We missed it on this one. But the island was interesting with wild flamingos.

Pusser Landing I believe its called - very busy.
Drove to the usual spots - this island was a little more "roughing it" lets say. A little rougher around the edges on the fruit stop.
Island tour off the pier - usual suspects
Island tour off the pier. 3 out of 5. Nice scenery. All the usual suspects - busy beach , island high point for viewing and pics, stop at the fruit stand, beach and town views.
