Castles Along the Rhine in Absolute Luxury
This cruise was our first taste of river cruising and we could not have been more delighted. The service we received before we left home was smooth and simple. We arrived in Basel and stayed overnight before making our way to where the ship was moored the next day.
We were delighted with the way that we were welcomed onboard and were made to feel that nothing was too much trouble. The staff made us feel that we were really about to start a great adventure and we immediately felt that our holiday had begun.
We met many staff throughout our cruise and each and every one of them were exceptional. The service we received at all times was of the highest standard and they were so professional but at the same time so friendly. Our cruise director Bart was an amazing man who made everyone's cruise so memorable. Nothing was too much trouble, he was there to answer any question or assist in any way at any time.
The accommodation on the SS Antoinette has to be seen to be believed. I More had seen so many photos in brochures and was amazed to see just how much better it was in reality. Our cabin had every conceivable amenity one could imagine. The staff were available and maintained the facilities in a quiet and private manner.
The food on this cruise was just exquisite, from the impeccably maintained dining area, the fantastic waiting staff, impressive food and wines and a great atmosphere. The passengers who had specific dietary requirements were well catered for and nothing was too much trouble for the staff.
The public areas were so luxurious and comfortable and there were so many beautiful fittings, books and artwork to make it very enjoyable to visit these areas. As my husband loves the gym he was delighted and surprised at the facilities available.
The added facility of a self service laundry on board was priceless as it allowed us to maintain our laundry in ease.
The river levels on this cruise were low which led to some changes in the itinerary. The way that this cruise company handled these problems and the smooth manner in which the cruise continued and in fact was far better than we expected is to be commended. The captain and his crew kept the passengers informed at all times. We never felt that anything was done without us being informed and were delighted with how the itinerary was maintained at all times.
The management of the on shore excursions was smooth and well organized at all times. There was no disorganization or delay at any time.
We would recommend this company and this cruise ship to anyone. Their attention to detail, beautiful ship and the complete holiday package left us feeling completely satisfied in every way. We are already making plans for our next Uniworld cruise Less

Cabin review: S.S. Antoinette 302
Our cabin was just beautiful with plenty of cupboard and hanging space. The wardrobes were internally lit making it easy to see anything inside. The in cabin safe was spacious. In cabin water and bottled water was always replenished. The bed was so comfortable with luxury linens and bedding. There was ample bedside cupboards with good lighting. The bathroom was amazing with a great use of space in the vanity with a pull out drawer that had space for all our toiletries that were never cluttered. The use of L'Occitane bath products was an added luxury. The bathroom was marble and was sleek and luxurious as well as being spacious and practical. Comfortable bathrobes were very much appreciated. Latest release movies and music on the in cabin television meant we could catch up on some great shows. We had no problems with any sort of noise outside the cabin. Our cabin was very close to the reception area and very convenient.
