Our first cruise. Went with fiancee. 4 day trip to Cozumel.

Ocean view balcony on Empress Deck (7th level). Nice size room and large balcony. Decor was 1980s Miami Vice - pinks, plastic marble sink. Kinda ugly. Old tube television - no flat screen HDTV here. They claim the Triumph was remodeled? Doesn't look like it, don't believe it. Still stuck in 80s. The drapes are out dated, too, along with carpets everywhere.

Pros: good food in dining restarunts only (avoid buffets). Nice crew. Gambling casino nice.

Cons: pig slop food in buffet areas, drinking water taste like sewage, and way too many people as Carnival overbooks the ship. Very loud, hard to get away and find solitary areas. Out dated decor. I have a sinking feeling the casino (roulette wheels) are rigged somehow, as they've got Russians and Easter Europeans working as dealers, kinda sketchy, be forewarned.

AVOID the Shore Excursions at all cost from Carnival in Cozumel: they More are all over-priced rip offs. We, unfortunately, tried the Chankanaab Park Snorkel tour - all the coral was DEAD, totally awful and such a waste of precious time. At a cost of $70 per person, total rip off. We complained - Carnival did nothing, they don't care, they got your money. I should have just hopped in a cab and had a local take me somewhere for a fraction of the cost - total waste of money. Lesson learned.

Also, paying for drinks on board sucks - at $5 to $8 dollars per, adds up quick. I much prefer the all-inclusive resorts in Cancun and Riviera Maya where drinks are included.

Entertainment was mediocre: comedians are B grade, review shows are okay. Mindless stuff. Less
