We have always sailed out of Florida, which involves a flight and overnight stay. We chose this cruise because it was a 3 hour drive to Charleston, very low price for cruise. We are not huge Carnival fans and have been to Nassau and do not enjoy it. But it was January and we were in the sun so who cares!!

We used to book balcony rooms. Last cruise we changed to inside cabins. I would prefer a balcony but really we don't use it that much so would rather save the money for other things. This room either was bigger or seemed like it because there was no couch in the room. All we ever use the couch for is dirty clothes so we like the extra room. The bathroom was much bigger than we have ever had also. Still just shower stall, sink, toilet, but elbow room also!

This was our first time on a smaller ship. I did miss the speciality restaurant option. I am picky, I do eat meat but very little. So couple nights in the dining room, I had a hard time finding something. The Mongolian option was very unappealing, the vegetables were always empty or pitiful so we never ate it. The deli does make good sandwiches. Pizza is pizza.
