We flew into Miami on Friday evening and stayed at the Embassy Suites airport. Nothing great here - would not stay here for any other reason. When we checked in they told us that the port shuttle would be at 1:00 (we had a cruise package), but we wanted the 11:00 shuttle. They were able to get us on the 11:00 shuttle. They had a lot of people heading to the port and many buses and luggage carriers. This worked pretty well. We dropped off some folks at Carnival and then were taken to the Eclipse. Our bags were turned directly over to the porters.

We chose to stay in Aqua (AQ) class and loved it. They have a separate boarding lane and we were checked in and on the ship very quickly. The whole embarkation process was very smooth and friendly. As you boarded the ship you were given a Mimosa - nice touch. We were on board by about 11:30. The state rooms were ready around 1:00.

We have cruised on other lines, mostly Royal Caribbean. Lately we have not been as happy with RC, so we were anxious to try Celebrity. My husband and I are both in our fifties and were just looking to relax on this cruise. We did not really care about the ports.

Cabin Review

AquaClass 1

Cabin A1

Very quiet from the hallway. Steward cart never outside our room. A bit of pool noise, but not much. Bed is closer to the sliding door. Overhang on the balcony is extended - so more shade. Storage space is somewhat limited, but the cupboards over the bed hold a lot. Also there is considerable space under the bed that would be easy to use for items left in a suitcase if needed. Very quiet floor as there is nothing on this floor other than staterooms and spa rooms. Indented entry way so the door opens out.
