Canary Isles: Independence of the Seas Cruise Review by Wendy Morris

Balcony cabin was very comfortable, bed was huge and again very comfortable. Tea and coffee making was supplied. Unfortunately we were right at the rear and the balcony got covered in soot, especially on sailawy. It was a very quiet position though and we had no noise from surrounding cabins or corridor.
Swimming pool was like a warm bath and the jacuzzi was even hotter. We were able to swim everyday, even leaving and returning to Southampton in Dec/Jan.
Food was varied and of good quality generally. Not impressed with menu on New Year's Eve and ate in the informal Windjammer buffet.
Drinks expensive $6.95 for More pint and cheapest glass of wine. Not worth getting drinks package unless you are heavy drinker.
Enjoyed mini golf and climbing wall. Casino had loads of slot machines and some were only 1 cent play so kept us amused for long time with little loss - did win once or twice.
Would have liked more enrichment lectures. Most of the ones I attended were just sales talks for the spa treatments.
Screening room very tiny and didn't manage to get in to see films. Less
Cabin review: E29704 Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony
Small balcony right at rear but quiet location. Balcony gets covered in soot, especially on sailaway. No noise from adjoining cabin or corridor.Read All Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony (E2) Reviews >>
