My wife and I were aboard the Carnival Glory for the "Propulsion Cruise". This was the cruise in which the ship developed propulsion problems on the first day out. The problem could not be fixed until the sixth day of our new itinerary which included Freeport, and Key West. I find it hard to believe a corporation as large as Carnival could not do better in servicing their fleet. The Captain decided to change the itinerary so they could milk as much money as possible from all the guests that were being bambozzled. I heard from more than one ground worker at Port Canaveral when we returned that the ship had experienced problems the cruise before, and that they were not repaired. I find this even harder to believe. The crew would not elaborate on any of the questions that were put before them which was very aggravating.

We had a Stateroom on the Riviera deck next to a storeroom and very near the elevators. The room was a disgrace. Stains on the linens, stains on the lamp shades, lights that didn't work, and a very uncomfortable bed. The bathroom was compact, and the drains were very slow. Along the Riviera deck for the entire cruise there was a strong smell of sewer gas emanating from the area where the ice machines were located. I reported this several times to the pursers desk, with no resolution to the problem. Also, in the storeroom next to our Stateroom, was the artwork that was to be auctioned off on the cruise. Each day at sea at 1p.m., there would be a preview for the auction which started at 2p.m. Well, at 6 a.m., yes that is 6 in the morning , around 4 or 5 crew members would come to the storeroom to get the art. Does it really take 7 hours to bring art up 5 floors? I don't think so. Every day of the cruise we were awakened by loud crewmen, laughing and slamming carts around while they were loading the art. This was totally unacceptable. I confronted the crewmen on more than one occasion, only to be awakened the next morning.

The Staff was possibly the rudest I have ever encountered. This was my third cruise, and by far the WORST. The crew seemed inconvenienced at any request. They seemed to be in their own world, and we were intruding on them. Our waiter and his assistant, Ralph and Colin were really the bright spot of the cruise. They were great, the food was not. Tough and dry lobster, fatty or very undercooked beef, to small dainty portions. The buffet in the red sail restaurant was better than the dining room.
