Booked this Thomson Cruise on the Dream with some serious reservations and my 15 year old daughter was even less sure. A week later and we are all converts! She loved it and wife and me had a great time too. The Dream is a fine slightly older but well designed & maintained ship. Lovely blonde wood decks and cabins are spacious. Whole ship is spotless and crew cannot be faulted in any regard. Hard working and constantly, unwaveringly friendly, a credit to Thomson and Captain Roy! Cruising route was perfect with only one whole day at sea. Could not believe how lucky we were with the weather...27 degrees every day and 12 hours of sunshine. Hard to think the UK and the Caribbean share the same planet. Sea temps at around 27 degrees too so lots of sea swimming is mandatory. Meals were great and the Orion restaurant was a lovely place to eat with great service from all specially star waiter Tawanto. House red at &12 per bottle and other drinks around same as UK prices. Thanks to all the lovely folks we met on board and to Thomson for making our first cruise a great one. The Crodens

Cabin review:

Spacious and quiet cabin with lots of good quality light fittings. Comfy beds. Enough hanging and locker space. Easy to operate safe in cabin. Best of all a powerful hot shower to wash that sea salt off. Worth upgrading to outside plus for the window and flat screen TV. (In truth we never watched it...too much going on!)

Port and Shore Excursions

Took a taxi to Runaway beach which is about 15 mins travel time and journey cost $12 each way in taxi. One of the best beaches I have ever been on in my life. Atlantic coast so some lovely, lovely waves to play about in and yet there were less than 20 people on it. Perfect white sand, and even a beach bar with cold beers at $3 each...bliss. Perfect Caribbean beach. Try it.

Highlight of cruise. great crew, good quality gear aboard lovely Catamaran. Best of all was swimming with the wild turtles! Fantastic, just do it. Oh and the other people aboard were fab too.
River Tubing. Said not for faint hearted but at £42 each should say not for those with thin wallets. The guys who looked after us were fine but the trip itself down the river is very tame. Most of the time is spent driving up and back from the drop off point and waiting in the river for the others to join up. With hindsight I would have taken another trip. Some very poor roads and poor living conditions en route too.
Beach Break
Joined with some others and took a taxi to Cockleshell bay in the south of the island near Nevis. Lovely quiet beach where you can hire hobie-cats and jet skis. Took wife and daughter out for a wild whizz about on jet ski...great fun. Ask for PJ to show you where the turtles surface. Taxi trip =$8 pp each way. Great day.
Just got the water taxi to the far side of the main beach passed the sun loungers and shops. Fab relaxing day on the quiet beach with a break for a look around the shops out of the midday heat. Nice tidy town and within view of the cruise ships.

Road Town on Tortola. Good island to start seeing the Caribbean. Get a taxi at the port and head to the beach.
