My husband and I cruised for the first time 2 years ago on the Crown Princess via RCI. We had 0 complaints! Friends of ours who are expert cruisers have always raved about Royal Caribbean so we chose the Jewel for our cruise a week ago versus a Carnival cruise. We were travelling this time with our 2 kids aged 5 & 9. Although I have been told by many that Carnival is amazing for kids I opted to go with RC based on what our friends had told us.

It seems they have neglected to concentrate on the added touches on the Jewel. I can't help but wonder if they rather place all emphasis on their 2 new ships Allure and Oasis. Unfortunately based on my experience on the Crown Princess, there was nothing special on this ship that impressed me.

Cabin- I did really enjoy the cabin. We were pretty much center ship and the balcony was quite large. Lots of storage space within the room and HUGE closet space.

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony (E1)

Huge closet - lots of space in closet. Great smaller storage on top of desk and in washroom too. Quiet location, great location for rough sea we didn't feel the motion much being close to the mid ship. Balcony was very spacious.

Beds including the bunk and pullout were very comfortable.
